Travel Agencies / Trade

Travel Agencies / Organisations

Includes: Destination management companies

Travel agencies (both online and retail store fronted) are good to find competitively priced flights, as most often they are the first to find out about cheap travel deals and seasonality pricing in flight fares. Also provide guidance on travel plans and possible tours. With some of your own homework and research you’ll have the tools to evaluate whether travel agencies best cater to your needs and if they are cheaper than your DIY online findings.

The travel agencies websites are also good to do mock bookings to see flight times and approx prices – Also for tour providers and deals. Their main niche is arranging round the world flights, where they can command the knowledge of insider deals with airlines and airline groups. Most helpful is that you can sign up to each of their newsletters for specials and deals via each of their websites

    Travel Promotions / Package Deals

Some “group buying” companies offer reduced ‘special’ travel deals, but I would urge caution to read the terms and conditions very carefully. Many disclose that travel be made between certain timeframe and set conditions on travel. On occasions it may be cheap because it’s a poorly rated hotel wanting more business, or the ravel dates on a non ideal season (eg rainy). There is always a reason why it’s a special. Buy if you dare.
